Terrible meme ;)

Okay, so paraka on my flist had an Evil Meme sent to her. So evil, I needed to play along!

The old Snog/Shag/Marry/Throw off a cliff scam from giggly school days. I never had subjects I could really relate to then (who *cared* about so-and-so from homeroom? I was drawing pictures and reading books about Linnaeus and Darwin and playing Gourd Wars in the dry creekbed behind my house. Boys? Whatever.)

paraka has supplied me with 4 names from fandoms to allocate accordingly.

So now that I have reached the maturity of a teenager, I bring you the results

Ka D'Argo (Farscape)

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Ka D'Argo, but I'd need a little ushering in on the whole 'making out with a tentacle-chinned alien' thing. And for the record, there was NEVER ANY PROOF of demise in Peacekeeper Wars. Not as far as I'm concerned!

Captain Jean Luc Picard (NextGen)

OMG, I love me some captains! (teehee) That said, his first love is his ship, his second, his crew. I wouldn't have it any other way. That man could order tea (“Earl Grey. Hot.”) and have me ready to get down. I think he'd be a great friend/ person to meet, but in the confines of this game, I choose 'shag'. (Though, apparently, he says "engage")

MacGyver (MacGyver)

Now here's a relationship with lasting potential. I'd have to get more outdoorsy like I once was, but that could be arranged. Marriage is full of compromises, though, and his for me would be Allow Me My Non-Tofu Food Items.

No contest. Marry. He's got a dangerous job, but everyone on this list has their availability/ mortality issues, so we'll leave that out. He's smart, he's a science nerd, he's funny, and most of all, he's a loyal, true-hearted kinda guy. And have you seen the episode where he's undercover as a logger??? I mean, really???

throw off a cliff

Eli Wallace (Stargate Universe)

Okay, okay. I think we could be buds. Really, I do. Though he quotes “Planet of the Apes” more than my dad, which is unholy in its own right. BUT he's just whiny and immature. He's definitely most like a normal person, especially in that he's fallen into the trap of getting attracted to someone who leans on him, then getting upset when they follow the hot bod. Totally understandable. But totally annoying. Get some self-confidence, buddy. Though I bet he'll be a cool character when they get through toughening him up emotionally (to be fair, he's in a totally new circumstance, with no prep for this), I balk some at this character because I know he's a plot device meant to endear the audience, and I hate that. I also cringe at the all-too-obvious-even-before-last-week's-ep “heading toward a falling out with Scott” thing. Sigh

Anyone else wanna play? Leave a comment saying so. If you're not wabbit, give me a quick run-down of your fandoms, even old ones, so I can get creative.

Interesting answers. I really like your answer for Picard.

I'm curious though on your thoughts on SGU. How have you liked the show so far and which is your favourite character.

I'd be up for playing again if you want to give me some names. My fandoms include: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Queer as Folk, Harry Potter, Stargate (all of them), Numb3rs, Reaper, Terminator, Merlin, Torchwood, Doctor Who, Supernatural... umm, I think that's all of them.

Somewhat unrelated, are you doing any cons in 2010? I'd love to see you again.

I am doing Creation Vancouver 2010 and likely Dragon*Con in Atlanta. I had tickets to Meet the Man (RDA con in Vancouver) but a friend is doing a 2nd wedding in Cyprus (Greece) a couple days before and I'm going so the logistics wouldn't work out. I'd like to do Gatecon, but the timing/ $ would be tight.

My first Dragon*Con was last year and the entertainment vs cost was phenomenal. TOTALLY worth it!!!! Almost total free access to every party and panel and lecture across 4 hotels the entire weekend for about $50!!!! I split a room within walking distance w/ 1 other person and we had microwave and minifridge for $220 per person for Wed-Tuesday. We took a tram from the airport straight to the con area for a couple bucks and took about 20-30 minutes.

So, your mission should you choose to accept it:
I am unfamiliar with some of the fandoms, but I think I can work with it-
Remus Lupin (Potter), Ian Edgerton (Numb3rs), Jack Harkness (Torchwood), Ba'al (SG-1)

I don't want to play, as I hate this meme, BUT I simply must comment:

You forgot Picard's supreme devotion to Beverly Crusher and most especially her brilliant man-child, Wesley (but not because he's secretly Wesley's father, fanfiction writers...).

You should trust me on this. After all, I'm a captain. *grin*

Indeed you are the cap'n.

Oh, but re: Beverly... I said that he loves his ship and his crew. Buuut, it has been a long time since I have seen much Next Gen, but I seem to recall he had a couple encounters with open office hours, if ya' know what I mean.

and it's a meme

I did kinda ship for Bev and Jean-Luc back in the day, before I really knew what the heck that was....
